My work, it seems, is done. Spotted hands, rough and delicate like paper. The sun, so much smaller then when I was a child. Sets behind the caves and silos. The sky still bright behind it. That strange way that nature and human nature can sit side by side. The days are longer here. It gives me time to think. Ways to remember. I remember my daughter, she fills me with pride. I wish she could be with me...no I wish I could be with her. Back home in the warmth and light. Where people could care for me in these last days. Where I could hold her one last time and tell her about the wonderful future she has to look forward to. It's getting hard to breath with this mask. I need to get inside soon. I've layed the groundwork. Not just for Elaine, not just for my country, but for everyone. I can just rest here. I've earned it. Watch over the still mountainside. There isn't much air left. I'll have to make it last. Just a few more breaths. The horizon finally starts to darken. I'll be found by those who come after me. And more will come. We'll jump into the bonfire together. And this world will bloom, and team with life. All it takes is one life, willfully, joyfully sacrificed. A beacon. Light from dark. Over.

about

This album is presented as a single, 24 minute and 12 second song, however on the Bandcamp website itself, it is broken down into it's five distinct movements.

This album is a departure from our louder, more clanky sounds, to something a bit more smooth and a bit more melancholy and a bit more ambient. This also serves as a spiritual cousin to our upcoming, more EBM-styled EP 'Sweatshop Science."

Fifthsun is an album about death and rebirth and a few of these themes parallel recent experiences in life. Fifthsun also refers to Aztec mythology about the creation of earth and it also is about our future in the stars. Also themes of mysticism that have quietly been in the background of all our work are present here as well. All of which is quite a lot for an album that has no vocals, save for a spoken word segment at the end.

This EP has been built and tinkered around with off and on for about a year and a half. We have made attempts to cover the bases of different disciplines of art and craft through our collaborators. Video components, written prose, visual artwork created specifically for the inside cover, voice acting, and a forthcoming physical package CD that is hand made and unique in a number of ways.
